Diane started sewing at AAF as a teenager. After a lengthy hiatus, during which she moved to Germany, it was a nice surprise to reconnect with her and have her return to sewing during a summer visit and undertake a major sewing project. For this project, Diane had a white wool coat that she wanted to convert to a modern vest. She took it apart and recut the original coat into a vest adding diagonal panels, piping and a collar from an AAF tweed fabric. She used a beautiful Japanese silk jacquard for the lining and chose some spectacular AAF buttons as the finishing touch. We all applaud Diane's vision and the completion of her project. And we look forward to her next visit and sewing adventure!
