Jacket and skirt
One of my husband's clients had a semi-annual fundraiser which they called a hoedown. But this was a totally upscale hoedown: think Rodeo Drive, not Calgary Stampede. A chance to explore some new directions. The jacket pattern is Vintage Butterick 8463 and the skirt pattern is Vintage Burda 8407. The same fabric was used for both: a cotton and lycra metallic denim. The nailhead application was a first for me. I created the design and then began applying the nailheads with needle nose pliers. The flat piping uses the reverse side of the fabric and there is no cord involved which produced the flat look that I was after.
