Strapless dress
Emanuel Ungaro has long been a favorite of mine and I suspect he influenced my creative spirit in making this strapless party dress which I wore to several black tie functions. The bodice is made from a silk/rayon metallic, shirred onto a layer of silk satin underlining which is boned and lined as well. Simplicity 8309 was possibly my bodice jumping off point. Cut in a semicircle, the skirt is made from silk chiffon burnout with metallic shapes, has a narrow rolled hem, and is lined with China silk. Long nylon/lycra gloves matched the bodice along with sparkly jewels and great shoes to complete this dress-up look.
