Jumpsuit
It's difficult for me to invest a lot of time in making a new ensemble to wear just once. So for an October wedding, I simply added on to existing pieces. My polyester metallic matte gold knit jumpsuit was only worn on vacation. It is a combination of two patterns: bodice is Butterick 5886 and pants are Burda 6774. The bolero was added later to wear over a contrasting camo fishnet dress. Made from a felted mesh with sparkles, this Burda 6645 was first made strictly from mesh. Over time it has evolved and been worn to other weddings. I deconstructed it adding a lightweight gold metallic knit, that I fused with Angel Face interfacing as an underlining to the front, back and bands. (AngelFace is available from AAF in white or black.) I also added a flat piping from the same gold metallic knit to the outer edges of the band and, in retrospect, I regret not adding the same piping to the inner edges of the band as well. The body is lined with a stretch silk georgette. Just by chance I came across and completed two previously started necklaces that seemed to be perfect complements to the ensemble.
