  Notes Totally tropical is a two piece ensemble that's resort-ready. The skirt was created first as a standalone piece. Made from Burda 8199, a bridal dress skirt pattern that has princess seams, it is fitted in the hips and flares out, ending in handkerchief points at the hem. My fabric is a lively rayon tropical print lined with green China silk. The top is Style pattern 2282. It has wide straps, a square neckline with a cutout V at the center front. The panel seams fit to the hip and flare out a bit at the hemline. The top was cut so the print matches the skirt perfectly.
